SAWBA

The South Australian Wheelchair Basketball Association (SAWBA) aims to promote the sport of wheelchair basketball throughout South Australia, providing people of all ages and abilities access to a safe and educational environment where all are encouraged to get active and have fun. Our range of programs offer the opportunity for anyone to achieve their goals, with both elite and social teams, and teaches life skills with our strong and supportive community.

Who can play social wheelchair basketball?

Anyone who can push a manual wheelchair can play! You don’t have to have a disability. We also have some wheelchairs available, if you don’t have your own sports chair.

Where do we play?

What are the rules?

Social basketball is at The Lights Community Centre, Lights View. Social games are every Tuesday nights from 6:10pm.
 

The rules of wheelchair basketball are very similar to running basketball. The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation has a great ariticle on the rules HERE. A complete rule book can be downloaded HERE
